Privacy Policy
PopCloset ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect or that you may provide when you use the PopCloset iOS Application (the "App") and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
1. Local Storage & Cloud Rendering Pipeline
PopCloset is designed with a hybrid architecture to balance privacy with powerful generative AI capabilities:
- On-Device Garment Extraction: When you scan a piece of clothing, the subject isolation and background removal are performed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Your garment images are stored locally on your device via SwiftData.
- Cloud Generative Try-On: When you choose to "Generate on Me" to see a photorealistic try-on, your base photo and the selected garment images are securely transmitted to our backend infrastructure (hosted on Cloudflare Workers).
- Gemini Processing: Our backend securely passes these images to the Google Gemini API to render the final try-on image. The generated image is then downloaded back to your device.
2. Data Transmission and Retention
We take your image privacy seriously:
- Ephemeral Processing: Images transmitted to our Cloudflare Workers and the Gemini API are processed ephemerally. We do not permanently store your photos or generated try-on images on our servers.
- No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use third-party behavioral analytics, tracking SDKs, or advertising networks inside the App.
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect identifiable personal data, account information (beyond what Apple provides for subscriptions), or location statistics.
3. Device Permissions
To function correctly, the App requires certain iOS system permissions:
- Camera Access: Required to take photos of your clothing or base try-on photos.
- Photo Library Access: Required to import existing photos of your garments or save generated try-on images to your camera roll.
You can revoke these permissions at any time through your iOS Settings application under Privacy & Security.
4. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date at the top. Because we do not collect your contact details, we cannot notify you of updates individually; please review this page periodically to stay informed.
5. Contact Information
If you have any questions or feedback about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please submit a query via our Contact Page.
